Asturix is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu dedicated to enterprise users and companies. It is aimed at being very stable and easy to use. The name (Asturix) comes from Asturias (a region in Spain), its place of origin.

The conference that took place on March 10, 2010 in EUITIO (Esc Téc University Computer Engineering of Oviedo) was very clear that the project is as humble as Asturix ambitious of the three major projects announced in the past Asturix official presentation of 2 and is almost ready: Asturix Store. The conference offered the project to the university community to be encouraged to join the current momentum to the current free software. Asturix already has gone a long way, a leading Web infrastructure and everything is fully operational. In the morning, said José Emilio Labra, the director of the EUITIO you seem very well that a student hiciese the final project in collaboration with the project Asturix.

Ricardo López has announced the release of Asturix 4, an Ubuntu-based desktop distribution with a custom desktop environment and many usability improvements: "The team is proud to announce the immediate availability of Asturix 4.
