5 applications audio for Linux: Kid3-ID3 Tagger, KsCD, Music Brainz Picard, Quod Libet and Ex Falso.

Kid3 - ID3 Tagger.

If you want to easily tag multiple MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, FLAC, MPC, MP4/AAC, MP2, Speex, TrueAudio, WavPack, WMA, WAV and AIFF files (e.g. full albums) without typing the same information again and again and have control over both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, then Kid3 is the program you are looking for.

Features.

With Kid3 you can:
  • Edit ID3v1.1 tags
  • Edit all ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 frames
  • Convert between ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags
  • Edit tags in MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, FLAC, MPC, MP4/AAC, MP2, Speex, TrueAudio, WavPack, WMA, WAV and AIFF files
  • Edit tags of multiple files, e.g. the artist, album, year and genre of all files of an album typically have the same values and can be set together.
  • Generate tags from filenames
  • Generate tags from the contents of tag fields
  • Generate filenames from tags
  • Rename and create directories from tags
  • Generate playlist files
  • Automatically convert upper and lower case and replace strings
  • Import from gnudb.org, TrackType.org, MusicBrainz, Discogs, Amazon and other sources of album data
  • Export tags as CSV, HTML, playlists, Kover XML and in other formats
Requirements.
Kid3 uses Qt, id3lib, libogg, libvorbis, libvorbisfile, libFLAC++, libFLAC, TagLib, libtunepimp and runs under Linux (KDE or only Qt), Windows and Mac OS X.

    KsCD - CD Player.

KsCD is a small, fast, CDDB enabled audio CD player which supports multiple platforms.

    Features.
    • SVG Skins support
    • Random mode
    • Track list
     Music Brainz Picard.

MusicBrainz Picard is a cross-platform application written in Python and is the official MusicBrainz tagger.

Picard supports the majority of audio file formats, is capable of using audio fingerprints (PUIDs, AcoustIDs), performing CD lookups and disc ID submissions, and it has excellent Unicode support. Additionally, there are several plugins available that extend Picard's features.

When tagging files, Picard uses an album-oriented approach. This approach allows it to utilize the MusicBrainz data as effectively as possible and correctly tag your music. For more information, see the illustrated quick start guide to tagging.

Picard is named after Captain Jean-Luc Picard from the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation.

    Quod Libet.

Quod Libet is a GTK+-based audio player written in Python, using the Mutagen tagging library. It's designed around the idea that you know how to organize your music better than we do. It lets you make playlists based on regular expressions (don't worry, regular searches work too). It lets you display and edit any tags you want in the file. And it lets you do this for all the file formats it supports -- Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, MP3, Musepack, and MOD.

Quod Libet easily scales to libraries of thousands of songs. It also supports most of the features you expect from a modern media player, like Unicode support, multimedia keys, and tag editing.

    Ex Falso.

Ex Falso is a program that uses the same tag editing backend as Quod Libet, but isn't connected to an audio player. If you're perfectly happy with your favorite player and just want something that can handle tagging, Ex Falso is for you.

Ex Falso and Quod Libet have been tested on many GNU/Linux distributions, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Windows. Anywhere with GTK+ 2.12, Python, and an OSS or ALSA compatible audio device should be able to use it.
